In this week's round-up of our ‘photo a day project', we continue our quest to see the Northern Lights in far-northern Scotland and set our sights on a change of Scottish scenery in Glasgow.
Photo a day project: February 17th 2014. Starry night. With perfect weather conditions and millions of stars out, we almost completely forgot about the aurora as we gazed up at the galaxy overhead.
Photo a day project: February 18th 2014. Snowdrops. You know Spring is right around the corner in parts of Northern Europe when snowdrops start peaking out of the ground and eventually, in some areas, creating a fragrant white blanket of flowers.
Photo a day project: February 19th 2014. Stacks of beauty. After a late afternoon dash through the paddocks to try to beat the sunset, we were rewarded with this stunning view of the Stacks of Duncansby. Quite reminiscent of Australia's Twelve Apostles, don't you think?
Photo a day project: February 20th 2014. Freedom to move. Sometimes a rental car is the best option for exploring a country, especially when public transport isn't frequent, distances are vast and you need to go off road. Do you rent cars when you travel?
Photo a day project: February 21st 2014. Aurora Borealis. After a week of either heavy cloud cover or geomagnetic inactivity, we were finally rewarded on our last night in far-northern Scotland with a brief but spectacular Northern Lights display. Yes, yes, yes! Have you seen them?
Photo a day project: February 22nd 2014. New cat content. Nomads, we've found another cute cat for you! Meet Kazuki, the resident feline at our current accommodation here in Glasgow. He was a little shy initially but got comfortable real quick. We're afraid we've become crazy cat people.
Photo a day project: February 23rd 2014. Pipe organ recital. The collection of art and antiques at the stunning Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow is so vast and varied that you could happily while away the whole day there like we did. Be there at 3pm on a Sunday for a real musical treat.
