In this week’s round-up of our ‘photo a day project’, we tour the highlights of Istanbul and Izmir with local and international Instagram talents to capture the wonder of Turkey on camera.
Photo a day project: April 21st 2014. Pre-meet. Caught up with a group of very talented photographers for a casual photo walk of Kadıköy on the Asian side of Istanbul. Followed by dinner which officially kicked off Istanbul Instameet!
Photo a day project: April 22nd 2014. Framed. Our second visit in as many weeks to seek solace from the masses in the courtyard of the architecturally awe inspiring Blue Mosque.
Photo a day project: April 23rd 2014. Caught graming. An evening wander through the fish markets followed by a seafood dinner along the Golden Horn, rounded off the Istanbul leg of the first international Instagram Instameet. Next stop: Izmir!
Photo a day project: April 24th 2014. The Great Theatre of Pergamon. After an early morning flight to Izmir, Turkey, we hopped on a bus and headed straight to the ancient Greek and Roman ruins of Pergamon. Much of the remaining city, including this 10,000 capacity seat theatre, dates as far back as the second century BC.
Photo a day project. April 25th 2014. Wild poppies. Commemorating ANZAC Day with a minute of silence in Ephesus, Turkey. Lest we forget.
Photo a day project: April 26th 2014. White cliffs of Pamukkale. Resembling a snow covered hillside, people have been taking the waters at these calcium rich terraced hot springs for centuries. And if it's good enough for Cleopatra, it's good enough for the Nomads ;)
Photo a day project. April 27th 2014. Aegean sunset. Rest and relaxation was the order of the day after six amazing but hectic days of sightseeing and photographing the highlights of Istanbul and Izmir.
