It’s mid-winter in Europe, and this week Berlin didn’t disappoint with several consecutive snow days to thrill the Aussie nomads. Here’s what we got up to!
Photo a day project: January 27th 2014. Snow day. Having not grown up with snowy winters, there’s just a certain elation we feel every time we step out onto some fresh powder. Snow fight!
Photo a day project: January 28th 2014. Project igloo. In commemoration of the Sapporo Snow Festival that will soon begin in Japan, we thought we’d make our own snow sculpture: a trullo house like the ones in Alberobello, Italy! Only this one is made of snow and houses cats! :)
Photo a day project: January 29th 2014. Hairdo. Four months + no haircut = time to see again. So with an overnight Amazon delivery of electric clippers and Jess at the styling ready, I opted for the shaven look. But not before a little fun in between.
Photo a day project: January 30th 2014. Tag! It’s day three after the build and the snow trullo is still going strong. Which is fantastic because it keeps Bennie and Bungle entertained and out of trouble. The mischievous kitties that they are.
Photo a day project: January 31st 2014. On thin ice. Having quite a bit of experience in this area, Hai thought it would be a great idea to step out onto a frozen lake for a photo. Fortunately for him, it was solid enough but there were a few dicey moments when we heard tell-tale cracking noises.
Photo a day project: February 1st 2014. Sun bathing. After a week of negative temperatures and overcast conditions, it was quite pleasant to see and feel the sunshine again.
Photo a day project: February 2nd 2014. Waterproofing. So much for the sunny weather. Although it did remind us to reapply a new coat of water repellant on our boots and jackets.
