In this week’s round-up of our ‘photo a day project’, we scoot through 4 countries and, due to an overly roundabout route from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Montenegro, pass through six border control points. Despite the long night, these went without a hitch, which unfortunately cannot be said for a few other passengers, allowing us to acclimatise to the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere and chic all day cafe culture in readiness for our much anticipated arrival in Paris!
July 7th 2014. Cruising into town. A last minute decision had us dropping into the idyllic port town of Kotor in Montenegro, which is best known for its fortifications that extend high up into the hills above the Old Town.
July 8th 2014. Très chic. Practising our chic cafe styles in the narrow cobblestoned streets of Kotor’s Old Town, in readiness for Paris.
July 9th 2014. Layover. We guess there are a million and one worse places to be stuck waiting for a flight than Dubrovnik, Croatia. :)
July 10th 2014. Beautiful one day, perfect the next. That’s the only way we can describe this quiet little fishing village, which has all the charm of central Dubrovnik but without the mass tourism.
July 11th 2014. Finally. No matter how many times you’ve seen pictures of it, nothing compares to stepping out of the metro and seeing this towering beauty for the first time with your own eyes. Paris, we’ve arrived.
July 12th 2014. Louvre sunset. One of the most amazing things about intentionally getting lost in Paris is that the Mona Lisa may just be around the next corner. :)
July 13th 2014. Love locks. At one of the controversial footbridges in Paris covered with padlocks by couples expressing their undying love for one another. “Take only pictures, leave only footprints.”
